Watched this movie only now (!) but still could not stop myself from piping in... I differ with the assessment of Pandiarajan's role in this movie. He had done an admirable job as a sidekick who thinks he is the big boss. Certainly capable of revelling in the pomp and glory of his crimes, but ignoring Daya's dark side (or probably not wanting to deal with it). But the highlights of the movie were not the main characters, but Chappai (who is a hardcore criminal, but his anguish at the time of his death, when he sees his son in shock), Kuruvi (for all his bravado, cannot help feeling sorry for his childish naivete when he was shot), even the fat cop who kicks Daya below the belt in disgust before killing him...

The free-cam scenes were gritty initially but turned out to be a headache later on, but the rapid cutting added an abruptness which I could appreciate as the movie was 3 hours long and the last hour was the important part.

stud max blog dude...
contrary to its critical acclaim, i believe that the movie has nothing much to offer.
It's a very mediocre plot ,1 item number and the climax is sad ( pun intended). But the swing of emotions and fortunes between the 2 friends and later when realises what he has done are, i deem , the highlights of the movie apart from a screenplay that doesn't really get you bored.
