To my best, I've found the FULL lyrics and the above English translation is in pace with this one.But still NOT figured where this modern literature by Gnanakoothan is ?!?!? Can someone help ?!

Raghavan,

Even I was searching for the verse in 4000DP, but couldn't find it. It was only later that I came to know that it is Gnanakoothan's verses. I'm not acquainted with his work. Will let you know once I come across some information.

Thanks

Thanks for the info. As the verses ends with "ArangamA nagaruLAnE", i was searching @ 4000 Divya prabandham.

Can you please throw more light on this "Gnanakoothan"'s work which is similar to Prabandha paasurams as you mentioned.

Nice piece of research. Kamal's movie always needed such kind of (true)interpretations.

Thanks

Madham Kondu nadathum is not a holy passage, Its Literature of modern times written by Gnanakoothan, Similarly to Hymns of Andal in Thiruppavai.
This is Excellent analysis.
I always wanted to do one of mine, I also adore this movie a lot, & a lot to learn from this.

The elephant represents India, and the mahout the british. The mahout/british who while imprisoning the elephant/India also helped it survive and kept it safe/in order. He is slain by the elephant who stomps on him for stabbing it with his spear. With the mahout gone the elephant is stranded without a caretaker and yet is still imprisoned in chains. This is a symbol of the state of India then, and is highlighted when Saket and Abhyanker converse in the same frame as the elephant sans the dead mahout[the british have completely vanished]. Abh voices some thoughts which seem as representing that are running through India's mind in this scene.
