This is an absolutely seductive screen cap display of an art house horror classic by Kaneto Shindo, a great Japanese director who will be celebrating his 100th birthday on April 22nd. I saw this film last year at the Film Forum, and hold it highly as I do two others by Shindo: ONIBABA and THE NAKED ISLAND. Of course KURONEKO is known for it’s surrealistic flourishes.
But, Sam, who else would be so generous and relentless in commenting at this quiet corner of the ‘osphere?! Thank you, again. I wish I had had the resolve to be so keenly following up activity around the web.Sigh.
Hi! I’ve been reading your blog for some time now and finally got the courage to go ahead and give you a shout out from Houston Texas! Just wanted to say keep up the fantastic job!
